The recent 5 weeks our Sunday €100,000 guaranteed poker tournament have had great overlays which poker tournament players have been able to [...]

The recent 5 weeks our Sunday €100,000 guaranteed poker tournament have had great overlays which poker tournament players have been able to profit out of. The biggest overlay has been more than €30,000 and the smallest €13,000 which makes our Sunday guaranteed tournament a great value tournament to play. The winner will take home more than €20,000 regardless of the amount of fellow poker players who join the tournament and with less than 600 players to beat most weeks, then this tournament is a lot easier to take home than tournament fields where many thousand players need to be beaten before a win is secured. Qualifiers to the Sunday €100,000 guaranteed run daily and can be found in the tournament lobby.

Player who does not exactly knows what an overlay is, should read this part or otherwise continue to read about the Bad Beat Jackpot below.
The buy in of €140 in the €100,000 guaranteed Sunday tournament mean that €100,000/140= 714 poker players is required for Classic Poker to break even in terms of the guaranteed prize pool- with as little as 498 players entering the tournament November 1, Classic Poker had to pay players the difference of €30,280 or on average €60 per player that participated in our Sunday guarantee. If more than 714 players enter then the prize pool will simply grow beyond €100,000 and the winner and all other players will receive a bigger win than if the prize pool stays at €100,000.

The Classic Poker Bad Beat Jackpot stands at more than €335,000 December 11 and with the requirement of quad sixes to be beaten this is by far the easiest jackpot to take home. Remember it is only the special Bad Beat Jackpot tables that qualify for the monster prize the winner will receive in case he is dealt the “unlucky” hand. All players dealt cards will share in the Bad Beat Jackpot if it hits on the table they are at. The last winner took home an astonishing €210,000 with the players dealt in to the hand receiving €15,000 each.

On January 14 our software will once again be upgraded and get improved functionalities implemented in several areas.

Waiting list improvement:

In the new Classic Poker release players will now be allowed to join the waiting list from a table and not only from the lobby. Players looking to play against specific players can now use our player search function and go to the tables where the specific player play then join the waiting list from there.

Improved multi-tabling functionality:

From January 14 players can decide if they want the poker tables to be pushed to the front of the screen when it is their turn to act in a game or choose the option to see that it is their turn to act with a blinking taskbar function. This improvement will make multi-tabling a lot easier and players will find this a great new feature.

Improved resizing graphics:

We have changed both the text and card graphics when players resize tables. This will ensure a far better quality of the look of the tables regardless of the size chosen.

Due to the upgrade of the software the poker room will be unavailable from January 14 03:00 GMT until 08:00 GMT. The downtime of the software is subject to changes which will be announced per email to players.

Play well

Our players can begin to look forward to January 17, 2010 where our normal weekly €100,000 Sunday guaranteed is being replaced with a €200,000 Head Hunter (bounty) tournament.

This special edition of the Sunday guarantee will see players be rewarded with a €75 bounty for each and every other player they kick out of the tournament and on top of this the full $200,000 guaranteed prize pool will be paid out as in a normal poker tournament. The winning player will receive in the area of €40,000 for first place plus all the €75 bounty’s he has picked up on the way to victory.

With the increased buy in of €300+€20 Classic Poker advice players to be taking part in our daily scheduled satellite tournaments which has a buy in range from €3+0.3 and up to €32+3 which is the daily final sending 1 out of every 10 players to the €200,000 main event in January.

With more than 888 players needed to make this a break even event for Classic Poker we anticipate an overlay which make this a must play tournament for serious players. The added value when kicking fellow players out of the tournament increase the excitement and it also ensure players the chance of reaping good rewards even if not ending in the money.

We also advise players to enter some of our popular daily Head Hunters tournaments to train the skills in kicking as many opponents out as possible as the game strategy are a little more different than in a normal tournament. Players need to consider which hands to call opponents with if the opponent has less chips as the reward of €75 add a lot of equity to the calling range.

We wish all Classic players the best in the (Head) hunt for a place in the January 17 €200,000k final. Players can follow the link to read more about the Head Hunter Tournament.
