Sit & Go TournamentsA "Sit & Go" is a Poker tournament which has no scheduled starting time. A Sit & Go will start as soon as a set number of players (usually 6 or 10) have registered for the tournament. |
Scheduled TournamentsA “Scheduled” tournament is a Poker Tournament with a start date and time known well in advance. The Scheduled tournament will start as soon as the pre-scheduled date and time are reached. Scheduled tournaments are large events which feature hundreds of players and multiple tables. |
Freezeout TournamentsA “Freezeout” or “Elimination” tournament is the most common type of poker tournament. All players start the tournament with the same number of chips and the game continues until one player has won all of the chips. As players are eliminated from the tournament, tables are collapsed until one table remains known as the "Final Table". Tournament prizes are determined according to the Prize Pool structure determined before the tournament begins. |
Shootout Tournaments“Shootout” tournaments help players develop their entire game since you continually vary from full table action to heads-up play! A Shootout features a different tournament format where each individual table in a large poker tournament plays until there is a single winner at each table. The winners then combine tables and repeat the process until there is a single and ultimate winner! There is no limit to the number of “levels” or tables that you will have to win before becoming the tournament winner but typical tournaments include 3 to 5 levels. Shootouts are typically much shorter in duration than standard freezeout tournaments. |
Thunder TournamentsA “Thunder” tournament is a great way to test your speed and decision making while playing poker at full throttle. This exciting tournament feature speeds up game play by reducing each player’s action time from a standard 22 seconds, to just 12 seconds. A time bank is provided with additional time which can be activated to provide you with extra thinking time when making a difficult decision. Blind levels are just half as long and increase every 6 minutes. All uncalled winning hands and all losing hands are also mucked automatically. |
MPP TournamentsMPP Tournaments allow you to use your MPPs to buy-in. Most MPP tournaments offer great cash prizes or act as super-satellites to bigger events that our paid for by us. MPPs can also be used to pay for the tournament entry fee portion of the tournament! |
Sixpak TournamentsA “SixPak” tournament gives you the feel of the "Final Table" throughout the entire tournament! The SixPak concept is simple – tournament play is the exact same as a standard tournament but tables are short-handed with only 6 players seated per table, instead of 10. As players are eliminated and tables break down, a maximum number of 6 players per table is maintained. This means that tables feature much more action since you are in the blinds 33% of the time rather than 20% - a 65% increase! |

Satellite TournamentsA “Satellite” or “Qualifying” tournament allows you to win entry into a major poker event for just a fraction of the regular buy-in cost. The most popular Satellites tournaments are those for the major live poker tournament events, such as the European Poker Tour (EPT), World Series of Poker (WSOP) and World Poker Tour (WPT). Satellites can also be used to win entry into larger online poker tournaments. |
